THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR EYE TESTS
Regular comprehensive eye examinations are important for a number of reasons.
They can determine whether your vision is good enough for long distance tasks such as driving where it is a legal requirement to be able to read a numberplate at 20.5 metres.
Near vision tasks such as reading and computer work may lead to headaches and eye strain. If you have or get these symptoms they may be alleviated with glasses.
Your regular eye examination can also identify some general health issues such as high blood pressure or cholesterol. The examination also checks the overall health of your eye and can pick up eye conditions like cataracts or glaucoma.
A photograph can be taken of the back of the eye (the retina) which can be checked at each visit so subtle changes can be monitored.

We now have in stock some great new accessories.
We have some lovely gold plated spectacle holders in various dog breed styles. They are in the form of a brooch with a loop at the bottom which you just hook your glasses through when you are not wearing them. They look great and mean you can always have your glasses close to hand.

Recycle Your Old Glasses for Charity
Ever wondered what to do with your old glasses? We now have a recycling point from the Long Stratton Lions Club who collect old glasses. The glasses are collected and then sent to developing nations to be reused and help change peoples lives.
If you have any unwanted glasses then please drop them off at the recycling point, you will be helping a great charity and really worthwhile cause.
